Tommy Takes a Stand

I know this story is old news, but I couldn't resist such a photo opportunity. Tommy was happy to oblige.

On another note, look at how big Tommy's head is! We take the summer off, and he comes back looking like an oversized apple-head Chihuahua. No more cleaning out the cat bowls for you, Tommy.

  1. Perfect! I didn't know dogs could put weight on their heads ~ or is it just the camera angle? He looks very happy, Susan!

  3. And he's got love handles. (But then, so does Albert.)

  5. Tubby Tommy! But it suits him. And yay! He shares my political views.

  6. That story about Romney's dog made me so sick. I know things were different for dogs back then, but still....

  7. To be fair, the camera does add 10 pounds...it's just not usually seen in only one part of the body.

  8. You know I think Tommy is gorgeous.

I'm out of the loop (on purpose) so I hadn't known the Romney animal cruelty story before, but it doesn't surprise me.

  9. Maybe it is the camera angle, Shell, but unfortunately Hiker isn't kidding when she says he has love handles. And he doesn't wear them as well as Albert does.

KBF, you're very kind to say he's more gorgeous. Thankfully Petrea still thinks he is, too.

Jean, you could say it was an indulgent summer, and now it's time for boot camp.

Bellis, does it suit him? I think I've been a bad mom letting him get so tubby. He's miserable now being on a diet, but at least I don't strap him to the roof of my car.

Mimi, I hear ya. I felt sick when I read it, too.

You made me laugh, Paula! I think it's more like 10 pounds on the head and 20 on the body.

Petrea, the news is all depressing, so I think you've got the right idea to stay out of the loop.

  10. Good for Tommy! (For taking a stand, and for "adding a few" while enjoying his summer) He's a great American, Tommy is! :)

  13. You go, Tommy! You have a big head because you have a big brain and know who the best presidential candidate is. Walter, Henry and Mac are standing with you, Tommy and standing with all of us in our fight to keep the Obama team in office! Woof Woof Hooray! And a big Meow from Mac!

  14. Thanks, Margaret.

Liz, Tommy and I like your take on his big head. Ha!

  15. Tommy looks very happy!

I saw recently on tv this animal cruelty story...so bad! The sign is very expressive.

Hope you have a good week ahead.

  16. Thank you, Sonia. It's an awful story, isn't it? I love the sign; it's funny, simple and really gets the point across.

  17. Well my my, you are in mixed company. If you can't appreciate a rounded face you could send him my way where chubby is tolerated. (kidding - not about the chubby but the drop off -please don't)

Ok, so hoes your sewing skills? You could do a simple embroidery onto some kind of doggy jacket. Tommy could wear it on walks while sweating off those unsightly pounds.

    1. PA, Tommy is flattered you placed him in your company. I appreciate both your gorgeous faces.

As for my sewing skills, frankly they suck. But funny you should ask: my next post (hopefully before the end of the year) will feature a hand-sewn item of doggy clothing. The mystery seamstress shall be revealed.
